Frailea asperispina Ritter spec. nova
cylindrica, solitaria, 2 - 5 cm alta, 10-25 mm crassa, viridis, radice rapacae; costae 14 -19, 1 - 1,5 mm altae, dissolutae; areolae 0,6 - 1 mm longae, 1 - 2 mm inter se distantes, in summis tuberculis positae; spinae albae, aciculares, asperae, 8-13, 1,5-3 mm longae, marginales; flores 40 mm longi, 35 mm aperti; ovarium squamis angustis rubris, lana densa alba et saetis brunneis obtectum; tubus floralis 7 mm longus, interne clare flavus, inferne viridulus, externe viridis et fuscus, obtectus ut ovarium; filamenta clare flava, antherae pallide aureae; stigmata 7 - 9, 6 mm longa, clare flava; petala oblanceolata, 25 mm longa, 5-6 mm lata, sulfurea; fructus viridis, globosus, obtectus ut ovarium; semina 1,3 mm longa, 2 mm lata, brunneonigra, levia, nitida. Habitat: Soa Pedro, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Nr. FR 1368.
