Original Description
Frailea aureispina Ritter spec. nova var. aureispina Ritter var. nova cylindrica, clare viridis, 15-25 mm crassa, solitaria, radice rapacea; costae 13-18, 0,5-1 mm altae, dissolutae; areolae 0,8 mm longae, 0,5 mm latae, rufae, 1 -1,5 mm inter se distantes; spinae clare aureae, marginales 10-13, 3-4 mm longae, aciculares, rectae, centrales absentes vel 1-2, similiter; floralis 4 cm longi; ovarium lana grisea et saetis fuscis obtectum; tubus floralis interne pallide flavus, externe flavoviridis, obtectus ut ovarium; filamenta pallide flava; insertiones inferne dense, superne sparse positi usque ad 2 mm infra oram tubi; stylus clare flavus, 2 mm infimis coalitis cum tubo; petala 22 mm longa, 3-4 mm lata, viriduliflava; semen fere nigrum, nitidum, leve 1,5 mm longum, 2 mm latum. Habitat: Quarai, ad septentriones versus, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Nr. FR 1386.
